How Frozen Shipping
Actually Works

From our freezer to yours — here's exactly how we keep your smoothie pouches cold through every mile of the journey.

Step 1

Packed Frozen — Not Chilled

Your pouches are flash-frozen and packed directly from our freezer. We never ship refrigerated — everything goes in frozen to give maximum cold reserve for the journey.

💡Tip: We pack Monday–Wednesday specifically so your box never sits in a carrier facility over a weekend.

Step 2

Insulated Thermal Box

Every order ships in a purpose-built insulated box with a thick reflective EPS (foam) liner. This creates an isolated temperature chamber that shields the pouches from ambient heat — even in summer.

Step 3

Gel Packs — Placed Strategically

Food-grade gel packs are placed on multiple sides of the pouches — not just on top. This ensures even cold distribution and prevents warm spots from developing during transit.

💡Gel packs are non-toxic and food-safe. They may arrive partially melted — that's normal and means they did their job.

Step 4

2-Day Express Transit

We ship via 2-day express freight carriers (FedEx or UPS). Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend layovers. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your box ships.

Step 5

Delivery — Inspect Immediately

When your box arrives: open it right away. Check that pouches are still cold or frozen. Some partial thawing (cold to the touch, ice crystals still visible) is completely normal and safe.

💡Do NOT leave the box sitting on your porch in extreme heat. Check delivery notifications.

Step 6

Freeze Immediately

Transfer all pouches to your freezer within 30 minutes of receipt. Store flat or standing at 0°F (-18°C) or below. Pouches are good for up to 6 months frozen.

💡Label the date you received them. We recommend blending within 90 days for peak flavor.

Frozen Shipping FAQ

What if my pouches arrive thawed?+
If pouches arrive fully warm (not cold to the touch, no ice crystals), contact us within 24 hours at support@theathletesblender.com with photos. We will reship or refund. Partial thawing (still cold) is normal — refreeze immediately.
Will the gel packs arrive frozen?+
Gel packs may arrive partially or fully melted after a 2-day transit — this is expected and means the insulation system worked. The gel itself is non-toxic and food-safe.
What if no one is home?+
Our boxes are insulated for several hours post-delivery. However, we recommend scheduling delivery when someone will be home. We cannot guarantee product condition if it sits unattended in extreme heat (90°F+) for extended periods.
Can I refreeze partially thawed pouches?+
Yes — if still cold with ice crystals present, it is safe to refreeze. If fully thawed to room temperature, do not refreeze. Consume within 24 hours or discard.
Why do you only ship Monday–Wednesday?+
We ship midweek specifically to avoid pouches sitting in carrier facilities over the weekend. If your box ships on a Thursday, it may sit in a warehouse from Friday–Sunday before Monday delivery.
What states do you ship to?+
All 50 U.S. states. No international shipping currently. P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses cannot accept frozen shipments.
How long do pouches last in the freezer?+
Up to 6 months at 0°F or below. We recommend blending within 90 days for peak flavor and nutrition quality.
Frozen Shipping Disclaimer

Products may thaw slightly during transit in extreme heat conditions. Freeze or refrigerate immediately upon arrival. Do not consume if product arrives warm for an extended period of time. Shipping carrier delays due to weather, high volume, or mechanical issues are outside our control and may extend transit time. We ship Monday–Wednesday only to minimize weekend transit risk. We are not responsible for products left unattended after delivery in extreme ambient conditions. Contact us within 24 hours of delivery for any issues.
