How Frozen Shipping Works

From our freezer to your door in 5 steps.

We Pack It Frozen

Your pouches are flash-frozen and packed directly into insulated thermal boxes. We use food-grade gel packs engineered to maintain freezing temperatures through a 2-day transit window.

Insulated Liner + Gel Packs

Every box ships with a thick insulated foam or reflective liner that creates a temperature-controlled environment. Gel packs are strategically placed around the pouches — not just on top.

2-Day Express Transit

We ship Monday through Wednesday via 2-day express carriers (FedEx/UPS). We intentionally avoid Thursday–Friday ship dates to prevent weekend delays and holiday transit issues.

Arrives at Your Door

Your box arrives with pouches still cold or frozen. Some partial thawing (still cold to the touch with visible ice crystals) is normal and does not affect quality or safety.

Freeze or Refrigerate Immediately

Transfer pouches to your freezer immediately upon arrival. Do not leave the box sitting unattended for extended periods. Store at 0°F (-18°C) or below for best results.

Food-Grade Gel Packs

Our gel packs are rated for 48-hour frozen transit. They maintain internal box temperature at or below 32°F for the duration of standard 2-day shipping, even in warm ambient conditions.

Insulated Thermal Liner

Each box ships with a thick insulated foam or reflective EPS liner — not just newspaper or thin padding. This creates an isolated temperature zone that protects pouches from external heat.

Products may thaw slightly during transit in extreme heat conditions. Shipping carrier delays beyond our control may extend transit time. Always freeze immediately upon arrival. Do not consume if product is warm for an extended period.

Shipping Schedule

We ship Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend transit delays. Orders placed Thursday–Sunday are held and shipped the following Monday. This protects product integrity during weekend carrier downtime.

  • We ship Monday–Wednesday only. Orders placed after Wednesday ship the following week.
  • We are not responsible for products that are left unattended after delivery in extreme heat.
  • For issues with delivery, contact us within 24 hours of the delivery confirmation.

Shipping FAQ

Will my smoothies melt during shipping?+
We pack every order with insulated liners and gel packs specifically engineered to maintain freezing temperatures through a 2-day transit window. Partial thawing (still cold to the touch, ice crystals visible) is normal and does not affect product quality.
What if my order arrives fully thawed?+
Contact us at support@theathletesblender.com within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the product and packaging. We will reship or issue a full refund — no questions asked.
What if I'm not home when it arrives?+
Our boxes maintain temperature for several hours post-delivery in normal conditions. However, we strongly recommend scheduling delivery when someone will be home. Products that sit unattended in extreme heat are not covered under our refund policy.
How should I store my pouches?+
Store pouches in your freezer at 0°F (-18°C) or below. Do not store long-term in the refrigerator — frozen-only storage.
How long do frozen pouches stay good?+
Up to 6 months in the freezer. We recommend blending within 90 days for peak flavor and nutritional quality.
Can I refreeze a thawed pouch?+
If partially thawed (still cold with ice crystals): safe to refreeze. If fully thawed to room temperature: do not refreeze — consume within 24 hours or discard for food safety.
What states do you ship to?+
All 50 U.S. states. We do not currently ship internationally. P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses cannot accept frozen shipments.
When do orders ship?+
Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Wednesday. Orders placed Thursday–Sunday ship the following Monday. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your box ships.
Can I do local pickup?+
Yes — free local pickup is available in Richlands, VA. Select Local Pickup at checkout and schedule your pickup time. Pickup address: 669 Community College Rd, Richlands, VA 24641.
